Slab countertops of dolomite stone complement the custom-built paneled cabinetry and sliding pocket door.
Peninsula Tudor, San Mateo
This 1920s Tudor home is recast with modern interiors designed to celebrate the historical architecture. A newly expanded kitchen and family room create space for both everyday living and effortless entertaining. Carefully curated color and material palettes lend warmth and timeless beauty from room to room. In the kitchen, a custom range hood with walnut trim punctuates the crisp glass subway tile and surrounding custom-built cabinets. Throughout the home, custom millwork—including a built-in media wall, cabinet, and integrated desk—balances refined functionality with architectural cohesion. A once-enclosed stairway was opened with a wood-and-iron railing, allowing natural light to reach the landing and creating a brighter, more graceful connection between the home’s two levels.A custom range hood with walnut trim blends seamlessly with surrounding tile and cabinetry.
The farmhouse apron sink sets into a flush-edge counter for easy cleanup.
